The OPCMIA ITF’s premier annual event, the Instructor Training Program, is taking place this week at Washtenaw Community College in Ann Arbor, Michigan. And it is making a profound difference in the lives of attendees, helping them reach new levels of impact as educators and trainers. Jeremy Creech, an OPCMIA Local 143 trainer, recently testified to the power of the Instructor Training Program:

I have been attending the summer program at Washtenaw Community College for the past two years and have gained valuable experience in teaching students in small groups. I have learned various methods that promote effective learning and ensure students understand the material well. Additionally, during my time at Washtenaw, I have established strong connections with industry professionals, which not only enhances my own learning and understanding but also contributes to the development of our training program.

I strongly believe that if you do not participate in the OPCMIA summer program, you are missing out on a fantastic opportunity to improve your teaching techniques and discover better ways of educating students. Furthermore, you will miss the chance to network with other experienced instructors, which can greatly enhance your professional growth and development.

We hope all of our instructors heed Jeremy’s advice, and if they didn’t attend this year, make plans to attend the 2024 Instructor Training Program.
